Hattie Lou Woodall, 92 of Scottsboro, passed away Sunday,
November 13, 2011 at Highlands Medical Center. She was
a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She spent her working
life as a designer at Maples Industries. She was a member of
the original Maples Company and her experience proved valuable in
the foundation of Maples Industries where she worked closely with
John Maples Sr. and his son Wade Maples for a total of about sixty
years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great and
great-great-grandmother.
Funeral service will be held at 4 PM, Wednesday, November 16,
2011 at Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Woodall
officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 15 from 6-8 PM
at Scottsboro Funeral Home.
Mrs. Woodall is survived by son, John W. (Carole K.)
Woodall , daughter, Elizabeth Woodall (Danny) Hooper,
grandchildren; John Michael Word, Melinda Word Ray, Edward Parker
(Carmen Tidwell Word, Elizabeth W. Counts, John Mark (Karen Corum)
Woodall, Bryant E. Woodall and Danny (Mignon M.) Hooper Jr., great
grandchildren; John Douglas (Janet Bateman) Word, B. Parker (Naomi)
Word, Joshua G. Bush, Joseph E. Bush, Jr. , Hattie Jane Bush,
Brendan R. Counts, Ryan M. Woodall, Lucas T. Woodall and
Dalton H. Hooper, great-great-grandchildren; Juniper Reyes Word and
Julia Rose Waldrop and many nieces and nephews including John Wade
Maples of Scottsboro.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, C.W.
Woodall, and her parents Parker and Lizzie Walsh of Hollywood, AL;
brothers, John and David Walsh; sisters, Virgie, Laura, and Berdith
Walsh.
