Hoyle Ramone "Bunk" Campbell , age 82 of Scottsboro, AL, died
January 15, 2012 at Rosewood Manor in Scottsboro.
Funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2012
at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Dr. Roy Hall officiating. Burial
will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Monday, January 16,
2012 at Scottsboro Funeral Home.
The family has requested that donations be made to the
Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Scottsboro in lieu of
flowers.
Mr. Campbell graduated from Dekalb High School in 1947 and then
attended the University of Alabama. He was admitted to the
University of Alabama Law School when he was only 19. He received
his law degree and was admitted to practice in 1953. After serving
two years in the US Army, he joined his brother, Loy Campbell, in
the practice of law in Scottsboro. He continued to practice law in
Scottsboro for over forty years until his retirement.
For the past several years, he and his wife, Phyllis, have lived
both in Scottsboro and on the Alabama Gulf Coast.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, Phyllis Campbell of
Scottsboro; daughter, Leah (Byron) Dooley of Scottsboro;
stepchildren, Lisa McWilliams and Bob (Simone) Taylor; brother,
John Paul (Ann) Campbell; grandchildren, Drake Dooley and Jessica
(Brett) Hulgan; great-grandchild, Sawyer Kate Hulgan; nieces,
Ramona Campbell (Max) Collins, and Connie (John) Gebbia; grand
niece and grand nephew, and several cousins of the Blackwell and
Campbell relationships and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Campbell.
Mr. Campbell is preceded in death by his parents, John and Dot
Campbell and his brother Loy Campbell.
