Ralph Lamar Day, 58, of Scottsboro, AL passed away
on January 19,
2012 in his home while surrounded by family. He was born June
16,
1953 in Chattanooga, TN. Ralph owned and operated Ralph's
Auto
Salesin Scottsboro, AL.
Ralph met, DeAnn, the love of his life, while
attending Northeast
Alabama Community College in 1974. They have spent the last 35
years
working together while farming, gardening, traveling, and spending
time
with family.
Ralph is survived by his wife, DeAnn Payne Day,
brother, Ronnie (Pam)
Day of Scottsboro, AL and his father, Kenneth H. Day of Dutton,
AL.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Rowell Day,
Uncle
Johnnie Day, and Uncle Roy Day.
"Uncle Ralph" leaves behind several devoted nieces
and nephews,
Phillip (Carrie) Day, Alan (Rebecca) Day, both of Scottsboro,
AL.
Heather (Brent) Wilson, of Bridgeport, AL, Holly (Adam) Cooper,
of
Athens, AL. Stephanie (Josh) Harris, of Bridgeport, AL, Suzanne
(Cliff)
Youngblood, of Chattanooga, TN, Amanda Russell,
Lauren Russell, and
Katie Russell, all of Bridgeport, AL. He had ten great-nieces
and
nephews.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 21,
2012 at 2 PM at Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bud
Durham, Bro, Phillip Day, and Bro. Alan Day officiating. Burial
will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive
friends from 3-9 PM at Scottsboro Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St.
Jude Children's
Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105.
Ralph was of the Methodist Faith.
