Mrs. Ruby Armanda Holaway Gilliam , 84 of Scottsboro, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Highlands Medical Center. She was a member of Scottsboro Free Holiness Church for 40 years. Funeral services for Mrs. Gilliam will be at 1:00pm Tuesday at Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shirley Byrum, Rev. Scott Cooley and son, Rev. David Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow in Hytop Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 9pm at the funeral home.

She is survived by daughter, Wanda Grace Parker of Scottsboro, sons; Fred (Trinda) Gilliam of Murfreesboro, TN, David (Iris) Gilliam of Scottsboro and Dale Gilliam of Scottsboro, special caregiver and friend for nine years, Frances Hastings, sister-in-law, Ruth Holaway Benson of Scottsboro, grandchildren; Shawn, Steven (Chanda) and Matthew Gilliam, Andrea (Ricky) Stephens, Jennifer (Nathan) Smith, Julie (Jeff) Avans and Kevin (Carol) Gilliam, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gilliam was preceded in death by husband, Delley Lee Gilliam, mother, Essie Holaway Thompson, father, Clark Holaway, son-in-law, Billy Parker, sister, Gladys Brown , brothers; Lowell and Cecil Holaway.
