Russell Smith, age 52 of Pleasant Groves, died Tuesday, January
17, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday
at Pleasant Groves Holiness Church with Bro. Auther McAllister and
Bro. Vernon Stephens Jr officiating. Burial will follow in
Pleasant Groves Cemetery. Body will lie in state at the
church from 10:00am Friday until funeral time. The family
will receive friends Thursday from 3 until 9pm at Scottsboro
Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith is survived by wife, Marie Smith of Pleasant Groves,
children; Shawn Smith of Pleasant Groves and Stacie (Shane) Cooper
of Flat Rock, grandchildren; Kolten and Avery Anna Cooper of Flat
Rock, sister; Darlene and Alesia Smith of Skyline.
Mother-in-law, Pearl McAllister, sister-in-law, Janice McAllister,
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Tommy (Jessica McAllister and
Jerry McAllister & Cari Sanders. Preceded in death by
parents, Charlie and Jennie Smith, brother, Sanford Smith and
brother-in-law, David McAllister.
Mr. Smith was a member of Huntsville Fire Department for 17
years.
