Trenton Daniel Monk, age 74, of Hollywood,
Alabama, went to be with our Lord
Monday, September 5, 2011. Trenton was born in
Peacock, Alabama to Levi and Eula
Sanderson Monk. He spent his boyhood years in
Clark County, Alabama and
graduated from Grove Hill High School in 1956. He
served four years in the U.S.
Air Force. While he was stationed at the Little Rock Airbase in
Arkansas, he met
his future wife, Patricia Marshall.
Trenton was preceded in death by his parents, Levi
and Eula Monk; in-laws, Carl
and Aline Marshall; an infant son; sister, Melva Lawson;
half-brothers, Winford,
Marvin, and Gordon Monk; and half-sisters, Ruth Pugh and Eunice
Presnall.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Monk; daughters,
Kim (Scott) Thompson of
Birmingham, Alabama, Jan (Chris) Greene of Trenton, Georgia, Holly
(Thomas)
Hicks of Stevenson, Alabama; brother, Crafton (Dianna) Monk of
Saraland,
Alabama; granddaughters, Heidi Hicks, Ashley and Allison Thompson;
and a host
of nephews, nieces, and friends.
After working for 30 years in the paper mill
industry as an electronic and
instrumentation specialist, Trenton retired in 2000 from Mead
Paper Company.
He lived in Jackson County, Alabama for 35 years. He was an
ordained Deacon
and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Scottsboro.
Family visitation will be at Scottsboro Funeral
Home on Wednesday, September 7 from 6 to 8pm. The funeral will be
held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 8, 2011
at 10 am. Interment and military honors will be at
Pine Haven Cemetery, Hollywood, Alabama.
