Mr. William Earl (Sam) Davis, 71, of Nashville, TN, passed away
at his residence Monday, September 5, 2011.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Davis of
Nashville, TN; son, Kyle Davis of Nashville, TN; daughter, Carole
(Don) Waites of Fort Payne, AL; grandsons, Jacob and Nathan Waites
of Fort Payne, AL; sisters, Jean Driver and Betty Ratcliff of
Huntsville, AL; brother, Gerald Davis of Valhermosa Spring, AL; and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 PM at Gurley United Methodist
Church with Rev. Zach Seitz officiating. Burial will follow at
Gurley City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 7, 2011
from 5-8 PM at Scottsboro Funeral Home. Mr. Davis will lie in state
from 1-2 at the church Thursday.
The family has requested donations be made to the American
Cancer Society or Alive Hospice at 718 Patterson St, Nashville, TN
37203.
