Mrs. Rannie Mae Williamson Baxter

Rannie Mae Williamson Baxter, age 77, of Woodville, Alabama, passed away on December 6, 2025. Born May 4, 1948, in Fadette, AL Rannie lived a life rooted in faith, love and a deep appreciation for people. She often introduced herself by saying “my name is Rannie— like raining outside, but if you can’t remember that, just call me Sunshine” a reflection of the warmth and brightness she carried throughout her life. She was affectionately known as a child as “flitter” because she was always on the move—as an adult it was often late at night with a flashlight in hand—she was always in motion. She brought warmth and energy wherever she went. Rannie was lovingly cared for by her devoted husband of 61 years, Alex Baxter and she adored him just as deeply. She loved her family fiercely and she was loved in return by everyone fortunate enough to know her. Rannie believed every person mattered. Whether speaking to a cafeteria worker, janitor or anyone she encountered in daily life she always offered a “thank you” and kind word as she saw the dignity and worth in every job and every individual, and people felt genuinely seen in her presence. A talented seamstress and generous spirit, Rannie found joy and sewing and creating handmade treasures. She delighted in giving her creations and often her home cooked food to friends and family, sharing pieces of herself with every gift. Rannie was proceeded in death by her parents, Charlie Martin Williamson and Margaret Rebecca, Miles Williamson, her sisters, Sybil, Laverne and Vassie May and her brothers Charlie, Lee, Henry D, Perry, William Edward and Clyde. She is survived by her devoted husband-Alex Baxter, her son Richard Allen Baxter (Natalie) and her daughters MyLinda Solley (Vann) and Jennifer Couch (Jacob) her grandchildren, Cory Baxter, Megan Baxter, JB Couch, Caitlynn Couch, Jonathon Couch, Peyton Solley and Ryan Solley and her great grandchildren, Aimee, Amiyah, Arianna, Ky’rie. Her brothers Johnny Webb Williamson and Jimmy Williamson. Rannie Baxter will be remembered for her faith her love of family, her unstoppable spirit, and the love she poured into her family and friends. Her presence brightened every room, and her memory will continue to move in the hearts of all who loved her. A service to honor her life will be held at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall 9053 SR-79 Scottsboro, AL on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 2pm The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff of Southern Care New Beacon Hospice and Cumberland Health Nursing Home-Bridgeport, AL. Their compassion and unwavering dedication brought comfort not only to Rannie but to her family and everyone who loved her. They all were so amazing and words cannot express how thankful the family is to each and every person involved in her care.
